With James Whittaker's Sunday XI forced to concede their last game all eyes turned to Croxteth Drive where the Andy Godden Cup was scheduled to take place in remembrance of a much missed teammate and friend - to read more about Andy click here
Sadly the players were met by torrential day and some huge puddles on the square that made anything like a normal game of cricket impossible. With Andy's friends and parents in attendance we we keen to do something and there was the impressive trophy to play for so credit to the players who got stuck into an enthusiastic and entertaining game of pairs softball cricket which I think was won by Frank's XI.
A huge thank you to Mike Row for organising the day and for all the players for sticking with it throughout the rain. And of course Andy's friends and family for their enthusiastic support.
