Sunday 20th April - Sefton Park Women lose in opening Thunder Cup match

In a historic day for our women's team, Sefton Park Women played Leigh in their first game in the inaugural Thunder Cup.

In a battle of the two Liverpool competition clubs taking part in the new tournament, Sarah Culloty (36) and Lorna Harper (21) helped Sefton recover from 17-3 before Abbie Wright's 41* took the total to a competitive 209-9 from 50 overs.

Leigh's third wicket partnership of 133 between Lancs Academy player Olivia Brinsden (56) and overseas Lucy Page (72) broke the back of the chase as the hosts won by six wickets.
