Sefton Park won by 173 runs



The First XI welcomed Highfield to Sefton Park. Sefton won the toss and decided to field first.

Sefton were soon picking up wickets The visitors had their best stand of 27 for the fifth wicket and added what proved to be a valuable 18 for the last wicket as they were dismissed for 106 in 35.2 overs. There was a fine all round bowling performance by the Sefton park bowlers with Jimmy Dixon taking 3 for 48, Leo Spilsbury 2 for 9, Daniel Kelly 2 for 23 and Ayan Madhu 2 for 16.

In reply, Sefton got off to a good start, with Chris Bellis and Ben Percival putting on 40 for the first wicket but after Ben fell for 9, wickets started to fall. Chris Bellis went on to make 34 and Daniel Kelly (11) and Leo Spilsbury (13) took the score to 80 for 6 but when last man Jimmy Dixon was dismissed, Sefton were one run short of the Highfield total.

The First XI now drop to ninth in the table and face already relegated Ainsdale at Sefton Park next week

The Second XI travelled to play Formby where the home side won the toss and decided to bat first. They put on 50 for the first wicket and then scored runs steadily before declaring on 216 for 8 in 44.5 overs. Dave Kelly took 2 for 44 and Sarhad Rustom 4 for 38

Sefton were given a good start in reply as Jeremy Rogers (48) and Deva ((37) put on 89 for the first wicket. Sefton then fell to 113 for 5 and with 12 overs to go were 130 for 5. However Nathan Paul (46 not out) and Dave Kelly (66) saw them home with three overs to spare as they finished 217 for 6 in 37 overs.

Sefton are now second in the table unable to catch champions Ormskirk



The Third XI crossed the river to play Birkenhead Park Thirds.

Sefton won the toss and decided to bat first, going on to score 263 for 9 dec in 43 overs. In reply Birkenhead Park were dismissed for 58

The Thirds are in third place in the table



Another convincing victory came from the Fourths

They played Northern's Fifths on the Lower Ground.

Sefton batted first and scored 201 for 4 dec. with Rob Kennedy scoring 49, Jo Ledbury 21, Shadab Khan 41 not out, Andy Aitchison 49

In reply Northern were dismissed for 28 with James Orme taking 2 for 1, Ibrahim Ahmed 2 for 12, Ian Dawes 3 for 3 and Chris Slater 2 for 10
