Sad news reaches Croxteth Drive this week with the death of former player John Faulkner following a short illness. He was 81 years old.
John first established himself as a player at Wallasey where played as a successful batter in their 1st XI from 1961. John was the Liverpool Competition's leading scorer in 1972 with 789 runs and had trials at Warwickshire around this time.
John joined Sefton in 1974 and played for the club throughout the late 70s and early 80s before returning to Wallasey and seeing out his career at Huyton.
John sadly, passed away on Sunday, February 18 2024.
His daughter Sarah said: "Dad had many friends at Sefton and spent many happy times there."
John's funeral is on Wednesday, March 13 at Chester Crem at 12 Noon, followed by refreshments at Wallasey Cricket Club.
Everyone at the club's thoughts are with John's wife Di and children Sarah, Christopher, Joanne and Kim.
