Sefton Park won by 112 runs
The First XI travelled to Maghull for the start of their 2025 league programme.
Sefton won the toss and asked Maghull to bat first.
Two wickets for Huzaifa Zubair and one for Jimmy Dixon left Maghull at 38 for 3. A stand of 80 recovered their position but when Huzaifa was brought back into the attack, they lost wickets quickly and were eventually dismissed for 174 in 47.5 overs.
Huzaifa Zubair finished with 7 for 30 and Jimmy Dixon 2 for 43.
In reply Sefton scored a quick 40 for the first wicket with Haroon Khan being first out, scoring 34 in 29 balls. Two wickets fell quickly after that to put the score on 54 for 3 but James Stirling joined Paul Horton in the middle Paul was out for 37 with the score on 122 for 4 but Matt Young joined James Stirling and helped steer Sefton to a 6 wicket victory. James Stirling finished on 67 not out and Matt Young 23 not out.
The Second XI welcomed Northern to Sefton Park. The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first. A steady innings which soon picked up to a run a ball enabled them to declare on 202 for 6 in 37.1 overs
Sefton's innings began well with Jeremy Rogers (24) and Luke Connolly putting on 43 for the first wicket. luke Connolly (34) was next to fall with the score on 79 Joash Vinu scored 38 to take the score up to 100.
Eventually, a run a ball was needed as they reached the last 10 overs. Last man Connor Melia went into the last over with all results possible. Eventually, the last ball was reached with the scores level and one wicket left Connor Melia scored off it for a one wicket Sefton Park win.

The Third XI played Wallasey's Thirds on the Lower Ground
Sefton batted first. Alex Woods scored 33, Mike Lowe 28, Shadab Khan 35 but the outstanding performance was an undefeated century by Tom Rushton. (100 not out) as Sefton declared on 232 for 5.
Wallasey started well in reply but had no answer to Mark Boyns who took 6 for 37 and Faisal Maliksai 2 for 22. They dismissed Wallasey for 122.
