The defibrillator will be provided at no cost to the club thanks to a link with Liam Costello (at last meeting this was expected to be £750). †Training will be provided by the Oliver King Foundation on Monday 7 July at 8pm.† Bob Paisley, Dave Cunningham, captains and coaches to attend.† Jan Kelly already has training.
PPL Music Licence: Neil Edwards, secretary of the League Cricketers Conference, may have more information.† Tom Hughes to contact Neil.
Proposed Preschool Nursery in Lower Pavilion: Talks are ongoing.
Letter received from LCB promoting Lancashire CCC Foundation Weekly Draw.† The meeting didnít feel that it was a good use of club funds to enter at the present time but would promote the draw to the club membership.
100 Club current account: ~£7000
Pending bills £820
Keith is expecting a rebate of £1375 from Utility Warehouse.
Keith is hoping to pay back the outstanding £4000 of private member loans from last winter before the end of this financial year.
Function Room bookings are good until the end of August.
Members Bar takings have been strong.
The barís gross profit is currently running at around 60%.
Stuart has registered the club to hold an ECB Open Day during the India Test Series, currently scheduled for Sunday 27 July with a barbecue but this is open to change Ė support will be needed.† The club will receive £100 in Waitrose vouchers.
The club has entered a competition in the Daily Mirror to win £20,000 from Buildbase to renovate the pavilion.
On August Bank Holiday Monday, a Sefton Old Boys side will play a Sefton XI on a charity day raising money for CALM.† There may also be Dads v Lads on the lower ground followed by the Junior Presentation Night.
At the end of the season, a Sefton XI will play Quarry Bank Old Boys FC at both cricket and football on consecutive Sundays.
1 yearís full playing membership and £200 worth of bar vouchers agreed as prizes for the Christmas Raffle.† Members have been asked to donate prizes via Facebook.† Tickets to be printed in August and distributed to all members with the draw at the Christmas Carvery.
Roller shutters have been serviced.
Garden seating are being painted and repaired, and in some cases dismantled.
New sack truck to assist bar staff purchased.
New bench erected in memory of Leo Martin.
Buttons have been replaced in the bar seating.
Light bulbs have been replaced in the lower pavilion.
Terry Macklin to repair the curtain rail in the members bar.
Plans to update the pictures in the members bar.
Thanks to all the helpers, volunteers and teams who made Sundayís CALM Sixes such a success.
The Solstice Cup was once again a success on Saturday 21 June.† Thanks to Robin Surtees and team for organising and to Jan for opening the bar.
Under 15s have reached the Lancashire Finals Day of the National Knockout which will be at Elton CC, Bury on Sunday 13 July.
Under 13s reached the district cup final, where they lost to Liverpool, and qualified for the top division for the second half of the season.† This has meant that many of the weaker players have not played very much; Ted is proposing continuing with Sunday morning games through the summer holidays if other clubs agree.
Under 11s swept the board at the Ainsdale tournament, as did the Under 9s the week after.
A £100 donation has been made by a parent toward junior balls.
Presidentís Day game against England Physical Disability XI confirmed for Sunday 20 July with a 12.30pm start.† 40 overs per side.
The Junior BBQ will be on Friday 18 July.† Tickets are priced as per previous years - £5 for U16s; £10 for adults and £25 for families.† Music will be provided by Barry Ventreís son and there is a T20 match against a touring side plus a junior game.
No new members
World Cup Final and 3rd Place Playoff games provide an opportunity to attract people to the bar.
