Minutes of the Sefton Park C.C. Management Board Meeting held on Thursday 2nd October 2014.
Present: R Paisley (Chairman), T. Hughes, D Cunningham, M Boyns, S Lomas, J Kelly, E Wood and K Spencer.
Apologies: J Ledger, R Forsyth, E Williams, M Poole.
The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as a true record. Proposed E Wood seconded K Spencer
Mo matters arising
Memorandum of understanding between the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) and the Lancashire Cricket Board (LCB) including the Lancashire Cricket Club (LCCC). 2015 will see the 6th year of partnership working between the BCA and LCB when 2 under 20’s First Class Players will come to England via the Lord Gavron Scholarship Programme to play and experience club cricket and cricket development. They will be placed in Liverpool under the supervision of Dave Goodall, the LCB’s Community Cricket Development Co-ordinator in the city and will play their club cricket at Sefton Park Cricket Club and Wavertree CC etc.,
All invoices due for payment are up to date including the invoice from St Margaret’s for winter nets.
A profit and Loss for September 2014 and YTD was distributed.
A business review showing income for each bar compared with 2013 and expenditure against budget was reported: see attached report.
Functions room bookings had again seen an increase in period 11 against 2013.
Benches had been repaired
Damaged windows had been replaced
Function room tables have been repaired
Light bulbs had been replaced.
Boiler thermostat cannot be reached to control the heating and water temperatures – KS to organise a heating engineer to investigate.

A page on Wikipedia had been developed
SL in discussions with ECO Office, Ullet Road, re Energy efficiency rating.
A workshop to be set up to invite members, to discuss ideas/ways to modernise the bars in the main pavilion.
The Board congratulated the Cricket Committee and players on keeping our status in the 2nd division.
A contact list for junior coaches will be available prior to the season starting in 2015.
MB had communicated with the league to request if they could effectively change the way the fixtures are scheduled for 2015 (SPCC had 3 away fixtures on the trot) which would help the club’s cash flow.
MB advised the Board that he was in discussions with a number of players to try and strengthen the squad for 2015.
This resulted in a lengthy discussion with a view to the Boards position on paying players to strengthen the squad for 2015, this had been raised by playing members.
After listening to the pros and cons the Board were unanimous in their decision that the club could not afford to pay any playing members in our current financial position.
Cricket Committee are looking at entering another Sunday team into a 20/20 league and are awaiting the outcome from the league.
Players meeting will take place on 3rd October 2014/
