Last week the Under 15 season started, Ted Williams reports:-
"The U15s began their season in fine style with a comprehensive win
over Whitefield. SPCC scored 110 for 6 off their 20 overs with useful contributions
from Jordan Kavan and Michael Christopher. In reply Whitefield lost 3 wickets
in their first over to Jon Sproson, and Dan Kelly wrapped things up with a
spell of 2.3 overs 5 wickets for 4 runs including a hat-trick. Whitefield
all out for 59 in the 13th over.
This week they have a league game and a cup game against Liverpool."
On Sunday 25th May Sefton Park Under 9's played at Moorfields Cricket Club. The Results:-
SPCC 238 v Maghull CC 230 Sefton won by 8 runs
SPCC 222 v Moorfield CC 238 Sefton lost by 16 runs
SPCC 241 v Ormskirk CC 237 Sefton won by 4 runs
The week before, May 18th, they played two games against Rainhill. Kevin
Parr reports:- The First game SPCC 227 v Rainhill 241 - lost by 14 runs
Notable for Charlie O'Mahoney 13 runs and Kate Parr making her debut scored 8 - the only female in the junior section - possibly the only female player in the club?
Second game SPCC 225 v Rainhill 248 - lost by 23 runs
Notable for the first 6 of the season hit by Tom Durband. Michael Moran scored 10 runs and took one wicket.
Rainford hosted SPCC and Ormskirk u-9s
Rainford 228 v SPCC 253 - Sefton won by 25 runs
Sefton took 5 wickets, Joe Francis took 2 of them. Moran hit 8 runs.
SPCC 247 V Ormskirk 248 - Sefton lost by 1 run
Harvey Shields and Tom Durband put on 11 between them, Michael Moran and Joe Francis claimed a wicket each
Sefton were the hosts to Alder A and Alder B and Widnes
SPCC 240 v Alder A 261 SPCC Lost by 21 runs
SPCC 256 v Widnes 231 SPCC Won by 25 runs
SPCC 270 v Alder B 201 SPCC Won by 69 runs
Kevin Parr reports "No overall mentions just great team performances with bat and ball and some excellent catches in the final game as we took 4 wickets".
Good news for the weekend came from the Under 9's
Kevin Parr reports - "At Old Xaverians ground, Sefton played a friendly
game against a combined Old Xavs and Alder team.
The opposition batted first and made 242, Sefton replied with 273 - a wlnning victory of 31. Michael Moran took 2 wickets on his birthday and Chris Parr top scored with 18."

"Sefton were proud to host the Under 9 Liverpool Cricket Development
Tournament on Sunday 20th.
Alder, Old Xaverians and Wavertree joined us to provide a competitive but above all friendly day in which cricket was the true winner.
The results were as follows-
Old Xavs 238 v SPCC 244 - Sefton won by 6 runs
Alder 221 v Wavertree 271 - Wavertree won by 50 runs
SPCC 243 v Wavertree 244 - Wavertree won by 1 run
Old Xavs 246 v Alder 200 - Old Xavs won by 46 runs
Alder 235 v SPCC 242 - Sefton won by 7 runs
Old Xavs 241 v Wavertree 253 - Wavertree won by 12 runs
Wavertree won the competition with maximum points from their 3 games and received the trophy from Mike Dunn. All players were presented with commemorative certificates. Congratulations to the players from all teams who contributed to make the day an excellent example of sportsmanship

Most memorable Sefton moments were Caleb McLoughlin's 18 run total off one over, Chris Parr's safe hands to claim two catches in one match and Joel Gordon's amazing catch of the day".
