Saturday 25th August.....Rain and Draws

The First XI travelled to Wigan where the home side won the toss and decided to bat first. A stand of 59 for the third wicket was their best effort in a declared total of 163 for 8 in 59 overs. Dan Kelly finished with 2 for 37 and Rob Houghton 4 for 47 which took him to 50 league wickets for the season.

In reply, Sefton found the going just as hard with 41 from Richie Forsyth being the best score in their 121 for 6 in 39 overs at the close.

The Second XI game was called off with the ground unfit following the early morning rain.

The Third XI were able to play their game against Goodlass on a damp Lower Ground. Goodlass won the toss and decided to bat first going on to score 212 for 9 in 45 overs. Harvey Shields finished with 2 for 37 and Terry Macklin brought up his 50 wickets for the season, taking 5 for 41. Sefton were only able to reach 115 for 6 in 44 overs in reply with Neil Disley scoring 47 not out and Jon Hague 34 in a drawn game

The crucial Fourth XI game against Liverpool's Thirds was called off by Liverpool who said that the ground was unfit. Only two points separates the sides with Liverpool second from bottom and Sefton Park third from bottom.
