Sunday 5th August...Century for Ben Percival as Seconds make it through to the Chester Cup Final

The Second XI travelled to Northern to play the semi-final of the Chester Cup. Sefton won the toss and asked Northern to bat first. Phil Calrow took 4 for 33, Rory McInness-Gibbons 2 for 27 and Austin Ventre 2 for 27 as the home were dismissed for 193 in 42.2 overs.

Sefton's reply began badly as both openers were back in the pavilion with the score on 9, Rory McInness-Gibbons joined Ben Percival in the middle and scored 22 in their stand of 49 for the third wicket. The fourth wicket fell quickly but at 60 for 4, Sefton still had a lot to do. The biggest stand of the match then followed as Richie Conlan (45) and Ben Percival put on 101 together. Ben, then put on 29 with Austin Ventre before he was Sefton's sixth and last wicket to fall, scoring 101 in 140 balls. Austin and Connor Melia then steered Sefton home with 6 wickets down and four balls remaining.

Sefton now play Ormskirk in the Final scheduled for 19th August at Sefton Park
