Sunday 8th July....First XI through to semi-finals of Ray Tyler Cup

The First XI moved into the semi-finals of the Ray Tyler Cup with a win over Prestatyn at Sefton Park. The visitors were asked to bat first and put on 59 for the first wicket but after that wickets fell quickly particularly to the spinners. Mark Chappell took 4 for 33 and Richie Forsyth 2 for 19 as the visitors were dismissed for 161 in the 42nd overs.

What looked a relatively easy total to chase did not prove so as Sefton were 26 for 3 and then 79 for 5 but an innings of 64 from Jermain Davis held the reply together, he was helped by 27 from Greg Harvey and 32 not out from Dan Coonan as Sefton reached the required total with six wickets down in the 35th over.

Sefton now meet Sutton St Helens in the semi final with the game scheduled for 15th July
