Saturday 9th June......First XI gain revenge at Liverpool and it's wins for all five teams

The First XI returned to Liverpool following their defeat in the Echo Knockout two days before.

The home team won the toss and decided to bat first. Runs were never easy to make and Liverpool were dismissed for 70 in 34.1 overs. Daniel Kelly bowled unchanged to take 6 for 28 and Rob Houghton 4 for 21.

Most of the crowd thought that Sefton's reply was never going to be easy and so it proved. Liverpool opened the bowling with Daniel Kelly's brother Peter who also bowled throughout the inning and took the first six wickets as Sefton fell to 37 for 5 and 55 for 6 but Greg Harvey came to the middle and enabled them to pass the Liverpool total finishing on 20 not out and completing the game with a six in the 40th over.

A much more comfortable time for the Second XI at home to Bootle. Sefton won the toss and decided to bat first but at 16 for 3, it looked like they had problems. However, 43 from Andy Aitchison and 57 from skipper Richie Conlan steered them away from trouble. Harry Deveney scored 29 and they eventually were all out for 202 in the 41st over.

Sefton's opening bowlers Austin Ventre and Harry Bailey soon got stuck into the visitors in reply and at one point, they were 16 for 7. Remarkably, the innings only lasted 10.4 overs and they were dismissed for 43. Harry Bailey took 5 for 17, Austin Ventre 2 for 22 and Mark Chappell took 2 wickets for no runs in 4 balls.
