Friday 11th May - First XI through to Second Round of National T20

The First XI are through to the second round of the National T20 following a 28 run victory of local rival Wavertree.

Wavertree won the toss and asked Sefton to bat first. Daniel Kelly scored a rapid 29 in an opening stand of 37, Sean Vandome scored 33 to take the total to 80 when the second wicket fell. Rob Houghton came to the middle after the fall of the fifth wicket with the score on 103 and hit 43 not out in 25 balls with two sixes as Sefton reached 157 for 6 in their 20 overs.

In reply, Wavertree started well and were 86 for 4 after 10 overs. However, the introduction of the spinners tied Wavertree down and with Phil Calrow going for only 12 runs and skipper Richie Forsyth taking 3 for 16 in his four overs, Wavertree finished on 129 for 9 in their 20 overs.

No surprise in who Sefton Park play in the next round, a trip to our old rivals Bootle!!
