Sunday 10th September.....Sunday XI miss out on promotion as game is abandoned for rain

Mark Boyns's Sunday XI played Northop Hall's Third XI on the Lower Ground knowing that a win would ensure promotion to the 3rd (Sunday) Premier Division.

Northop Hall batted first and were dismissed for 143 in 46.3 overs with Liam Naylor taking 3 for 22, Joel Parkinson 2 for 43 and Tom Langford 2 for 11. Tea was taken but the rains fell on a ground that already suffered over the last few days. A number of attempts were made to resume but it was eventually called off with Sefton being unable to bat.

The interest then lay in the result of the Prestatyn Thirds against Liverpool's Fourths. After a late start Liverpool were dismissed for 118 in the 35th over. The Sefton team in the pavilion following the scores from Prestatyn were pleased to hear of early wickets falling as the game carried on in the rain and dark. Prestatyn eventually won by 3 wickets in 25.3 overs and finished 8 points ahead of Sefton in a division where only one team is promoted
