Sunday 3rd September...Sunday XI move into top spot

The Sunday XI moved to the top of their division following a win over Alder's Fourth XI.

Sefton won the toss and asked Alder to bat first. The went on to score 228 all out in the 41st over, Joel Parkinson was the pick of the bowlers with 6 for 36 and Liam Naylor took 2 for 25. In reply, Sefton lost their first wicket on 20 but Tom Langford (37) and Liam Naylor(86) put on 129 for the second wicket. Liam was caught off the bowling of his own dad playing for Alder!! Sefton struggled a little to get the necessary runs but Scott Isaac scored a valuable 18 and Joel Parkinson scored 25 not out including the winning runs. Sefton passed the Alder total with 8 wickets down in 42.5 overs.

They now meet Northop Hall at home next Sunday, 10th September when a win will ensure that they are promoted.
