Sunday 4th June...Progress in Mike Leddy Trophy

Sefton Park's Third XI moved into the quarter finals of the Mike Leddy Trophy with a win over Birchfield Park. The Widnes side won the toss and decided to bat first. Chris Mitchell took 3 for 24, Harvey Shields 2 for 24 and Zubair Ali 3 for 31 to dismiss Birchfield Park for 148 in 33.3 overs.

Sefton had no problems in reaching the required total only losing 2 wickets in 26.4 overs, Michael Row finished on 47 not out, Danien Mee scored 47 and Adam Taylor 39 not out.

They now play at Goodlass on 25th June.

Mark Boyns's Sunday XI made it 6 wins out of 7 for the weekend for the Sefton Park sides with a win at Hightown St Marys against their fourth XI. Hightown won the toss and decided to bat first. A stand of 35 for the seventh wicket enabled them to reach 77 all out in 33.2 overs. Sefton wicket takers were Liam Naylor (3 for !0), James Milburn (2 for 20), John Davies (2 for 5) and Tom Langford (2 for 15), the other wicket being taken by Terry Macklin.

Sefton Park's reply was dominated by an innings of 58 not out as they finished on 80 for 4 in 16.5 overs.
