Saturday 27th May....Win at Birkenhead Park

The First XI travelled to Birkenhead Park, won the toss and asked the home side to bat first. Sefton soon got amongst the wickets, in particular Daniel Kelly who finished with 4 for 26, Shakeem Clarke took 4 for 43, all clean bowled on his league debut. Rob Houghton with 2 for17 completed the wicket takers as Birkenhead Park were dismissed for 100 in 38.4 overs.

In reply, Sefton reached 85 before the first wicket fell, that of Sean Vandome for 50. Two wickets fell on 94 but Sefton then moved on the victory by 7 wickets. Skipper Richie Forsyth finished on 32 not out.

The Second XI played Formby at Sefton Park. The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first. After a fairly solid start, wickets began to fall quickly and they were dismissed for 78 in the 30th over. Andy Foulder took 3 for 24, Phil Calrow 3 for 15 and Robin Brown 3 for 18. Sefton's reply was quite remarkable. Skipper Richie Conlan decided to open with the chance of the forecast rain increasing. After losing Dan Coonan to the first ball, Richie hit out and scored the required runs in 8 overs, finishing on 69 not out as Sefton won by 9 wickets.

Charlie Daniels CD XI played Wallasey on the Lower Ground. The visitors won the toss and asked Sefton to bat first. They declared on 224 for 9 with the top scorers being John Fretwell (61), Charlie Daniels (52, Mike Lowe (41) and Adam Taylor (20). Wallasey made a big effort to reach the total in a game that could have gone either way, eventually finishing on 217 for 8 as the game was drawn. Chris Mitchell took 3 for 62 and John Fretwell 4 for 80

Neil Disley's ND XI travelled to Northern to play their JS XI. Northern won the toss and decided to bat first. Sefton dismissed them for 161 in 43.5 overs. Top bowlers were Muhammad Haroon with 5 for 44 and Paul Morris with 4 for 29. Michael Row scored 68 not out in reply, Iain Squires 47 and Freddie Frost 30 not out as Sefton passed the Northern total for the loss of 2 wickets

The Fifth XI made it 4 wins out of five with one draw for the Sefton Park sides. They played Alder's Thirds at the Liverpool College ground. Sefton batted first after winning the toss, Top scorers were Tim Yates (51), Zubair Ali (33), Rob Kennedy (24), Connor Melia (27), Ajay Mehta (27) and Louis Scott (22 not out). Alder were dismissed for 78 in reply with Jo Ledbury taking 3 for 9, Danny Wright 2 for 5 and Zubair Ali 2 for 27.
