Saturday 11th June...Second XI beat top of the table Northern

The First XI travelled to Orrell Red Triangle but found torrential rain when they arrived there. The game was soon called off.

Many of the team returned to Sefton Park to watch the Second XI play top of the table Northern. The visitors won the toss and asked Sefton to bat first. Batting was always difficult and they were bowled out for 128 in the 35th over. Top scorers were Richie Conlan with 38 and Michael Row with 27. Northern did not find batting any easier and opening bowlers John Fretwell and Matt Garnett soon struck. John finished with 6 for 39, Matt 2 for 14 and Ricky Martin 2 for 23 as Northern were dismissed for 81 in the 32nd over.

The Third drew their away fixture at Northern where they played their PH XI. Northern batted first and declared on 200 for 8 with Mark Boyns taking 2 for 21, Tim Gray 2 for 35 and Peteb Elliott 4 for 44. In reply Sefton were 160 for 9 at the finish with Adam Taylor scoring 47, Stuart Lomas 20 and Iain Squires 24.

The Fourth XI played Caldy's Fourth on the Lower Ground. Caldy won the toss and asked Sefton to bat first. They declared on 175 for 7 with Ted Williams scoring 77 not out and James Daniels 26. Caldy's reply equalled Ted's effort between the whole team as the were bowled out for 77 with Naj Ahmed Taking 5 for 21 and Chris Mitchell 2 for 10.

The Fifth XI game at Irby was called after following heavy rain as they arrived at the ground.
